This equipment is used for determining the permeability characteristics of solidified soils and rock cores, high pressure permeability studies can be carried out.

The complete outfit comprises :

Mould 50 mm diameter x 100 mm high and collar, Top plate, Base plate with recess for porous stone and porous stone, Indicator pipette, 6 mm x 300 mm long, Reservoir tank fitted with 7 kg/cm gauge, valves, flow control

 

This unit is provided with a 1/4 HP, single phase, AC motor. This bench mounted, single spindle lapping machine is ideally suited for the final polishing of mounted rock or concrete specimens. This is a motor driven unit with 450/500 rpm. A swing-in tap, for continuous water supply during operation, is also provided.

 

This unit is used for determination of resistance offered by rock to weathering and disintegration when subjected to immersion in water. Facility to test upto four sets of samples. Quick couplings for assembly and removal of drums. The rock samples are dried and then submitted to wear stress inside a drum which is rotated in water. The test is repeated and the wear is given by the loss of weight in the sample. The equipment is supplied complete with two drums with tanks.

 

Load Frame:

Load frame is steel welded fabricated. It is designed to withstand a few million times of full cycles of loading without any sign of distortion or fatigue. These frames are light in weight. The base carries a fine finished hydraulic ram and the lower platen. The top plate has the spherical seating to take care of any irregularity of the specimen surface or slight misplacement of the specimen from the central position.

 

The plastic limit test is performed on the soil in order to identify the plastic limit of that soil. The plastic limit is defined as the amount of water content in the soil below which the soil can no longer have its plasticity. When you further process the soil beyond its plastic limit, it can crumble and become like rolled-out threads which have an approximate diameter of 3 mm. The plastic limit set is one of the primary as well as effective instruments that are used for soil testing purposes.

•A flexible spatula that is 15 cm in length.

•Half a dozen moisture containers.

•A simple plastic wash bottle that can hold up to a capacity of 500 ml.
