LIQUID-LIQUID EXTRACTION IN A PACKED TOWER
DESCRIPTION:
The set-up consists of a glass column packed with Rasching rings. Continuous counter current contacts between the solvent and solute phases is made, which results into extract and raffinate streams. Flow meters (Rotameters) are used to note the flow of solvent & solute respectively. The continuous and dispersed phase streams are metered and derived from separate containers. The total set-up is housed in a well-designed rigid structure. The structure also supports tanks, piping, Rotameters, panel and other units.
EXPERIMENTATION:
To determine overall mass transfer co-efficient based on continuous & dispersed phase.
To determine individual “Height of Transfer Unit” based on continuous & dispersed phase.

Water Supply
Compressed Air Supply at 2 bar, 4 CFM.
Drain.
Required Chemicals & Laboratory Glassware.

SPRAY TOWER MAKE :CREATIVE LAB MODEL NO: CLMT-03
DESCRIPTION                                                                         
The experimental set-up of Spray Tower consists of a glass column provided with necessary accessories. It operates on a semi-batch mode. Fine spray nozzle is fitted at the top. Feeds are metered by Rotameters and derived from separate feed tanks. The liquid-liquid interface can be maintained by controlling the flow rate of extract with the help of needle valve provided on Rotameter. Total set-up is housed in a rigid structure. The structure also supports tanks, piping, Rotameters and other unit.

To study the effect of the dispersed phase flow rate on overall volumetric mass transfer coefficient.
Dispersed phase hold-up study.

DIGITAL PENETROMETER
 Description:
Digital penetrometer helps to determine the consistency of the sample bituminous under pre-specified conditions or factors of time, temperature, and load. The penetration results are expressed in the distance of 10th of millimeters that is vertically penetrated by the standard needle. We manufacture the best digital penetrometer in a rugged environment and come with base table clubbed with leveling screw. 
Specification:
On the base, a vertical pillar mounted with leveling screws.
The head along with dial plunger rod a cone slides on the pillar and can be easily clamped to the desired height.
It also carries the digital timer for controlling the penetration duration.
For fine adjustment of needle or cone tip to sample comes with a rack and pinion and pointer assemble.
A clutch mechanism is incorporated which help to read the penetration and subsequently help in resetting a simple and accurate operation.
The dial is graduated in 400 1/10 and the millimeter subdivisions with the needle pointer against the actual figures for easy reading.
Comes with a bitumen penetration needle, two sample containers, and ring weight one every 50 gms. and 100 gms, lead screw gear arrangement, Spirit level, and a digital preset timer.
