SLIP & CREEP MEASUREMENT APPARATUS MAKE : CREATIVE LAB MODEL NO:CLTOM-10
DESCRIPTION   
This apparatus is useful for measurement of power transmitted for various input power conditions with varied belt tension. Belt slip or creep also can be measured. The apparatus consists of a variable speed motor, driving pulley and driven pulley of equal diameters. The pulleys are mounted on input shaft (motor shaft) and output shaft. The driven pulley can slide on the base only with bearing block to change the initial tension in belt. Brake drum is mounted on the output shaft, which helps to measure power output. The motor speed is varied by variable speed drive. A double channel digital speed indicator indicates driving and driven pulley speeds. With the help of Stroboscope (optional) it is possible to demonstrate the slip of belt on driving and driven pulley.
EXPERIMENTATION:
To measure co-efficient of friction between pulley material and different belt materials.
To measure power transmitted with varied belt tension.
To measure percentage slip at fixed belt tension by varying load on the brake drum and plot the graph of   (T1-T2) v/s percentage slip i.e. “Slip Characteristics”.
To measure belt slip speed and observe the limiting value of load at constant speed when the slip just starts.
To study creep of belt.

Electricity supply: 220 V, Single Phase, 0.5 kW.
Space: 0.5m x 1.5m
TECHNICAL DETAILS
Motor   Variable speed motor, 1HP, 1500 RPM.
Pulleys  Driving and driven pulleys of equal diameters (flat pulleys)
Loading Arrangement Brake drum along with spring balance and rope arrangement is provided to load the system.
BeltsFlat belts of fixed length of two different belt materials
Belt tightening arrangement Bearing block is sliding and dead weight can be applied to set the initial tension in belt.
Speed Indicator 2 Channel digital speed indicator with switch to change the channel.

DESCRIPTION:
Gear Train is any combination of gear wheels by which motion is transmitted from one shaft to another shaft. In epicyclical gear trains, the axes of shafts on which the gears are mounted may move relative to a fixed axis. It is a motorized unit consisting of a SUN gear mounted on input shaft. Planet gears meshes with the annular gear. These planet gears are mounted on a common arm to which output shaft is fitted. Loading arrangement is provided for loading the system and to measure holding torque
EXPERIMENTATION:
To measure epicyclical gear ratio between input shaft and output shaft (Actual and Theoretical).
To measure input torque, holding torque and output torque.

Specific Gravity and Water absorption
Density Basket, A wire basket of not more than 6-3 mm mesh or a perforated container of convenient size 20 cm dia x 20 cm high with wire hangers not thicker than one millimetre for suspending it from the balance. 
 Balance -A balance or scale of capacity not less than 3 kg
 Suitable for operation on 220 V, 50 Hz, Single phase, AC supply.
 A container for filling water and suspending the basket.
 A shallow tray and two absorbent clothes, each not less than 75x45cm.
 1. A thermostatically controlled oven to maintain temperature at 100-110° C.

 Stable and silent throughout the test
 Accurate determination of bitumen percentage.
 Each unit is supplied complete with a set of 25 Filter Paper Discs.
 Suitable for operation on 220 V, 50 Hz, Single Phase, AC supply.
 The centrifuge is a cast aluminium rotor bowl, mounted on a vertical shaft and enclosed inside a leak tight housing.
 Conforms to ASTM D 2172, AASHTO T-58

Ultra sonic Pulse Velocity Instrument
 High performance, microprocessor based instrument that measures velocity , transit time & other parameters. The Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity instrument should supplied complete with;
 Two 54 KHz transducers (Transmitter and Receiver) with 3 m cable, Calibration rod Coupling agent (250 mm). Standards and Norms: EN12504-4 and IS13311.
