ROD MILL MAKE : CREATIVE LAB MODEL NO:CLMO-05
DESCRIPTION:
Rod Mills are horizontal rotating cylindrical steel chamber of half filled with steel rods of length slightly less than the length of chamber. The rods are of different diameter. The size reduction is accomplished by the impact of rods as they fall back after being lifted by the rotating chamber. Rod Mill is fitted on a sturdy MS frame. Charging of rods and material is done by the means of opening provided in the chamber. The chamber is turning about the horizontal axis through a reduction gearbox drive through a ½ HP motor. The stepped pulley arrangement is done for moving the Rod Mill at three different speeds. A revolution counter is provided to find out the number of turns. Special arrangement is done to free the Rod Mill from reduction gearbox for charging and discharging the material.
EXPERIMENTATION:
To study effect of RPM on the power consumption of a Rod Mill.
To determine the efficiency of a Rod Mill for grinding a material of known Wi.

SOIL HYDROMETER
Description:
Soil Hydrometer is ssed for grain size analysis of soils where more than 10% of the material will pass through 75 microns I.S. sieve.
Manufactured from clear transparent glass having uniform clarity throughout the upper end on which density scale is engraved.
The scale range is 0.0995 to 1.030 density (gms/cc) at 270C. Smallest division on the scale is 0.0005.
 

MUD BALANCE
 Description:
Mud balance is designed to find out specific gravities of Semi Liquids like mud and other liquids. Mud Balance is a simple method for fast and accurate determination of density of the drilling mud.
Specification:
It has a Stainless Steel bam calibrated specific gravities from 0.8 to 2.5.
A stainless steel cup with lid and overflow vent is fitted on one side of the beam.
A counter weight with cursor slides over the graduated scale.
The beam has a knife edge at centre which rests in fulcrum fitted in the stand.
Leveling screws and spirit level are fitted dot the stand.
 

HAMMER MILL MAKE : CREATIVE LAB MODEL NO:CLMO-06
DESCRIPTION : 
Hammer mill consists of Pivoted hammers, mounted on a horizontal shaft. Crushing takes place by impact between the hammers and anvil plate. The hammers delivers heavy blows to the feed material while it is in suspension, driving it against an anvil plate until it is fine enough to pass through the opening of the mesh fitted in the bottom of the Mill.The present Hammer Mill has sturdy housing that contains 4 Nos. of T shaped hammers, pivoted to a disc, which is fitted with the shaft of the mill turning about the horizontal axis. The shaft is directly coupled to a motor. The housing contains a semi-circular teethed liner (or anvil plate) on the top of it. A glass window to see through in the Mill is fixed on the front cover, which can be opened to change the sieve. Different mesh sizes are provided to get different product size. A hopper with feed opening and adjustment is provided in the Mill. The crushed material is collected in a receiver provided in the set-up. This mill can accept a feed size of 6.5mm or less.
